The Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) has tendered 200MW(AC) of grid-connected solar PV projects to be developed across four locations in the country.

The deadline for bid submission is 28 August 2018.

Earlier this month, Proinso UK and Dhaka-based independent power producer Joules Power Limited (JPL) said commissioning was imminent on a 28MW solar project in Bangladesh, which they claimed to be the first utility-scale PV project in the country.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is also providing a US$20 million loan and a US$25.44 million grant to support off-grid solar PV pumping for agricultural irrigation in Bangladesh, to replace expensive diesel-based systems.
