
The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has signed an MoU with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to work together on developing an initial 500MW capacity of off-site solar projects over three years.
DMRC is aiming to mitigate the effects of regular increases in grid tariffs.

Both entities will source additional power from other developers and generators, which are not on DMRC sites. DMRC will enter into long-term power purchase agreements with the project developers, but SECI will be responsible for ownership and operation of the projects.
An action plan and a joint development team consisting of senior officials from both organizations will be formed to carry out the plans.
