Cari Boyce, vice president, Policy, Sustainability and Stakeholder Strategy, said: “Duke Energy is accelerating the pace of our renewable energy program allowing us to increase our goal for wind, solar and biomass on our system. Renewable energy will continue to be a growing part of our generation mix in the future.”

By the end of 2015, Duke Energy owned or purchased nearly 4,400MW of wind, solar and biomass — 49% wind, 39% solar and 12% biomass.

Overall, Duke Energy operates over 52,000MW of generating capacity in the US. Since 2013, Duke Energy has helped communities bring in more than 37,000 jobs and over US$10 billion in capital investment.
