Global EPC contractor and Saudi renewable energy company Desert Technologies announced Thursday that the 23.1MW Falcon Ma’an solar plant has been connected to the Jordanian national grid.
The PV project covers a surface area of 500,000 square metres and is expected to provide 147 million kWh of electricity to the Jordanian national grid ever year while cutting over 25,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

The solar plant was financed under the Seven Sisters renewable programme, created by the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation (IFC) together with other partners such as FMO (Dutch Development Bank), (OFID) The OPEC Fund for International Development, Finnfund (Finnish Fund for Industrial Cooperation), Europe Arab Bank and Arab Bank.
