Order Focus: Phono Solar extends module supply agreement with Sybac

Sybac Photovoltaics has placed an order with Phono Solar for 10MW of its mono and polycrystalline silicon solar modules. The order, which will be delivered before the end of 2011, is the latest step in a strategic partnership between the two firms to install utility-scale projects throughout the US.

The Sybac group has already designed, financed, built and commissioned over 130MW of solar systems worldwide, with a further 120MW currently under construction and scheduled for grid connection before the end of the year. While the majority of this capacity is in Europe, financing has been secured for a project pipeline totalling more than 15MW in the US as Sybac attempts to strengthen its status stateside.

Similarly keen to make a name for itself in the US is Phono Solar. Despite only entering the market in 2010, the module manufacturer has seen sales soar, and the agreement with Sybac is likely to help continue this trend by attracting further developers and projects in need of completion.

“Our partnership with Sybac will continue our accelerated growth in the North American solar market, while providing the Sybac group with the high performance panels they require to complete large-scale projects in the US,” said David Allen, Phono Solar’s vice president of North American sales. “We are pleased our quality modules resonate with this important US project developer and we look forward to our ongoing role in this strategic market.”
