Recurrent Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar, announced that its 71MW PV project in Cumberland County, North Carolina has reached commercial operation.
Shawn Qu, chairman and chief executive officer of Canadian Solar, said: “The completion of the IS-42 project is an important milestone in our ongoing commitment to deliver cost-effective solar power to markets across the US. This is Recurrent Energy's first completed project in North Carolina, and we continue to see great potential in the state.”

The 71MW installation has a long-term Power Purchase Agreement with Duke Energy Progress, and is capable of producing enough clean electricity to power more than 11,000 homes.
Back in September 2017, Recurrent Energy entered into an agreement for the sale of 99% of its Class B membership interest in the project to Falck Renewables S.p.A. – with closing expected in November 2017.
DEPCOM Power provided EPC services for the project while also delivering O&M services. It is estimated that 275 construction jobs were created during the peak of development at the site, of which 95% were local hires.
