Sri Lanka’s CEB issues RfP for 90MW of small-scale solar

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has issued a request for proposal (RfP) for 90 small-scale solar projects of 1MW capacity each in Sri Lanka under the second stage of the Suryabala Sangramaya Programme – Phase II.

Approval to go ahead with the RfP issuance was first given back in October last year.

Plants will be developed on a Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis and will supply power to the National Grid. PPAs will be signed with CEB for a period of 20 years.

Deadline for submission of proposals is 23 March 2018.

The Suryabala Sangramaya Programme aims to bring solar power to households, religious places, hotels, commercial establishments and industries across Sri Lanka. It is being implemented by the ministry, CEB and Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA).
