Community solar developer Lightstar Renewables confirmed on Thursday (8 August) that it has been approved to participate in the ‘Solar Neighbourhood Plan’ in Detroit, US, by the City Council.
The land in question excludes natural reserves and high-value agricultural areas under “strict agricultural, environmental and technical criteria for hosting onshore wind and solar projects.”
Interest in co-locating solar PV with energy storage is increasing in Southern Europe, as grid curtailments and negative or near zero prices for solar PV become more frequent.
