The statement came on the same day that European solar manufacturing stalwart Meyer Burger announced plans to abandon its module assembly plant in Germany because of the lack of support afforded to manufacturers in Europe.
Parliament’s decision has been met with both approval and some trepidation by representatives in the European solar industry. It will now pass to negotiations with the European Council to clarify its specifics.
The statement comes off the back of a report from the Joint Research Centre (JRC) analysing the potential and challenges for AgriPV in the European market.
