The Netherlands-based PV module manufacturer Energyra B.V will be launching its first high-efficiency 60-cell module using P-type monocrystalline PERC solar cells with ECN patented metallization wrap-through (MWT) technology with a back contact conductive backsheet configuration. Energyra modules will have peak power values ranging from 300 to 325Wp and high durability under dynamic weather conditions, while providing best-in-class aesthetics for residential PV applications.
Indian PV manufacturer Waaree has started commercial production at a 1GW solar module assembly factory in the state of Gujarat, with several large tenders soon coming to fruition expected to counter the lull in activity brought about by a lack of tenders in H2 2017, according to a company official.
At the inaugural PV ModuleTech 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, it became clear that PERC module technology is fast becoming the industry standard and bifacial modules are no longer seen as a niche product, however, both technologies were scrutinised from the perspective of bankability and quality assurance studies throughout the event.
Equipment manufacturer Foxconn has acquired a 66% stake in Sharp at a reduced price, with the two parties set to hold a press conference this Saturday, 2 April.
