Solar frame producer Origami Solar has partnered with industrial manufacturing services company Unimacts to establish a frame roll-forming manufacturing line in Houston, Texas.
Solar frame producer Origami Solar has signed three deals with US steel manufacturers to produce its steel module frames in a move which it said “finalised a fully American supply chain.”
Origami Solar was founded in 2020 and is commercialising a roll form steel module frame solution that it claims can deliver cost savings, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and offer installation and O&M advantages.
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded Origami Solar US$50,000 and advanced it to the semi-final round of the DOE's American-Made Solar Prize competition after being impressed by the company’s folded solar frame
