Israel’s Public Utility Authority (PUA) has said that it will issue more than 1GW of fresh solar quotas, after a two-year hiatus from any new solar development.
The Jamaican Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has announced the winner of its most recent renewable energy procurement project. The preferred selected bidder, Eight Rivers Energy Company (EREC), is to construct, operate and own a 33.1MW solar PV plant at Paradise Park in Westmoreland, at a proposed lowest electricity price of 8.54 US cents/kWh.
The Japan Renewable Energy Foundation (JREF) has voiced concerns that a tender process for PV expected to be introduced next year could cap deployment at just 2GW to 3GW a year in what is currently still the world’s second biggest market for annual installations.
