The downstream solar PV market continues to evolve and as such so does the inverter. At Solar Power International 2017 in Las Vegas the continued roll-out of new products continues as the markets expand for energy storage and larger capacity commercial and residential rooftop systems.
The annual US-based Solar Power International (SPI) exhibition and conference historically generates a significant number of new product launches and can set new trends and directions for the downstream solar PV sector, globally. High-efficiency modules and high-voltage were the themes of new products announced at SPI on the second day.
US commercial PV inverter manufacturer Yaskawa – Solectria Solar announced today that Bombard Renewable Energy chose its US-made SGI XTM utility-scale inverters and SolrenView monitoring systems for a 17.5MW community solar project in the Mojave Desert town of Pahrump, Nevada.
Yaskawa – Solectria Solar, a wholly-owned subsidiary of robot and industrial motor company Yaskawa America, is planning to install a 500MW central solar inverter manufacturing line within an existing factory in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to help support the Latin American PV market.
