The panels will be installed across Thailand on Siam Global House rooftops, generating 800kWh per year or 95% of the facilities' electricity needs. Siam Global House is a national home improvement and construction materials retailer.

The PV installations will be some of the first distributed rooftop installations since the introduction last year of Thai National Energy Policy Commission (NEPC)’s feed-in-tariff for rooftop installations.

Helena Li, managing director of Asia Pacific & Middle East Region at Trina Solar said the installations are a “significant development in the adoption of solar power in Thailand”.

“We are encouraged by the Thai government's efforts to promote green initiatives and are proud to support the development of solar energy in Thailand,” said Li.

Representatives from the Thai government will answer questions on its post-2015 plans for solar energy at the Solar Energy South East Asia event on the 25-26 November, organised by PV Tech's publisher, Solar Media.
